Since 1955

Our Company

A family business, built one truck at a time, on the island it still serves.

P&M Reis Trucking is a family-owned business formed in 1955 by Myles and Priscilla Reis. From the outset, the company's core service has been residential and commercial rubbish removal.

Through the company's evolution, general trucking and freight delivery as well as local household moving were added and later discontinued — but rubbish removal has always been the heart of Reis Trucking.

During the 1990s a building boom on the island drove significant growth in the rubbish business and the addition of a fleet of roll-off trucks and containers to serve the building trades. Today the commercial fleet runs every day of the year, and a dedicated grease truck serves the island's restaurants and commercial kitchens.

In 1995, ownership and management of the company passed to Myles Jr. and Roberta Reis. Charlie O'Neil, Operations Manager, rounds out the Reis Trucking management team.

How We Work

What seventy years on one island teaches you

Island-based, island-equipped

Our trucks, containers, and crews are all here. Nothing waits on a ferry.

Recycling done right

Clear bags, separate trucks for trash, cardboard, and recycling, and drivers who know Nantucket's separation bylaw cold.

We know the island

Every lane, every driveway, every trash shed — and the seasonal swings that come with them. Routes are built around how the island actually lives.

Every day, all year

Commercial routes run 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When the island is busiest, so are we.
